Update

Marie's doing alright. Her lungs were good yesterday when we checked them, and she slept better last night than she has all week (yay!). I'm tentative about saying this, but I think we're on the rebound.

She's still really congested, so we're still on benedryl, and she's have a hard time with BM's but otherwise I see improvement.

We're still going to lay low, it's cold and rainy out today anyway.

I'm really grateful to my wonderful friend Christy, she's going to take Josie to her soccer game tomorrow (her son Aidyn is on the team too). That's a worry lifted.

Thanks for all your continued prayers!

Shannon, I just got a chance to read your updates and I hope for certain that Marie is rounding the corner on her cold. My great granny told me one time to rub Vick's Vapor Rub on the bottom of the girls feet when they were congested that it truly helped with the stuffiness. I hesitated b/c I thought it sounded corny and I thought it belonged on the chest and was for cough. I gave in one night and tried it b/c I couldn't get my little one to sleep or nurse and it did help! It is something to try with Marie if you get desperate. I just rubbed it on the bottom of her foot, put on a sock and with about an hour I could really tell a difference. I hope she continues to improve and that you and Luke feel better and Josie doesn't get a second dose!!!

=) Glad to hear she got some rest last night =)
The benadryl will make her constipated as its partially meant to dry up secretions - don't ask me how I know this... ;) Maybe, if you can, spoon feed a bit of warm water with lemon & a touch of honey (just to sweeten it). Vitamin C is absorbed by our bodies easier when it is combined with warm water (again...I don't know why I know this) and the combination is good for moving the bowels (secret I learned in yoga practice).
Hopefully all will round the corner, very quickly!
Good luck at your game tomorrow, Josie! We're cheering for you!
Love & Prayers!
